How Oriental Rugs for Sale are produced?

The oriental rugs for sale and Persian carpets use two types of basic knots in their production. The first type is the symmetrical knot, also known as Turkish knot or Ghiordes knot. This type of knot is popular in Turkey, East Turkmenistan, the Caucasus, and a few Kurdish and Turkish areas in Iran. The other type of knot is the asymmetrical knot, called as Persian knot or Sennah knot, used widely in Iran, Turkey, Indian, Pakistan, Egypt, and China. However, the Persian knot or the asymmetrical knot is widely used for production of finer rugs or carpets.  The carpets or rugs woven with Persian knot are more symmetrical and accurate. Spanish knots and Jufti knots are also used in some places for carpet weaving.

Flat Woven Rugs and Carpets

Flat woven carpets get their pattern and color from the weft, when the weft gets intertwined tightly with the warp. The most popular flat woven rugs and carpets are termed as Kilim. The Kilim rugs are a crucial identity and symbol of wealth for the nomadic tribe people. They use Kilim rugs as floor coverings, wall coverings, storage bags, bedding covers, cushion covers, and horse-saddles.
